SEPARATION / DIVORCE

Throughout the process, Valerie will provide you with the information and support you need to make decisions that work for you and your family and can help whether you’re considering separation, want to obtain a divorce or need to find a way to live with your present situation.

Mediation and collaborative divorce are pro-family approaches. In a supported and tailored process, participants are empowered to negotiate an agreement together and, in the process, develop tools for resolving future differences. Valerie ensures that each participant in the mediation is well informed and understands all aspects of their choices. All decisions made in mediation are made upon disclosure and understanding of all relevant facts and issues as well as all legal and personal considerations, and no agreement is signed unless both parties understand and agree to all of the terms.

Mediation allows you to exercise your right to make decisions that are in your best interest. Mediation provides a safe and supportive setting where your needs and interests are heard and understood, even where you and your partner disagree, while focusing on the decisions that you need to make for yourselves and your families. Mediation, in this model, can help you move forward, visualizing the future and towards rebuilding instead of destroying and casting blame.

Mediation can be instrumental in improving communication within the family during this demanding time and set the foundation for how you will co-parent in the future.

Mediation and collaborative processes encourage open, constructive communication to provide participants the opportunity to develop and explore options and make informed choices.

Mediation services are completely confidential.
